With my mother in hospital for 3 weeks now getting the training in has been difficult. I've done a few odd bits but not the longer rides I like to get in. I was entered for the Magnificat Sportive today but just couldn't face the early start & the drive so I blew that out in favour of a good long ride from home. I didn't feel like there was much wind but I guess, looking at the stats I had a half descent tail wind for the first hour & a half. Looks like I flagged a bit then to Uppingham, where I took a sandwich stop before the long drag back into the wind. Then as I got closer to home the clouds got darker & darker, whilst I tried to keep my pace up to make home before the deluge! The impending threat of rain turned from a threat into reality & I got soaked for the last half hour! Never mind it was a good ride all in all.
