Dan Fleeman’s Tour de Nock returns for the second year, this time supported by Cycle Shack and Peloton Cycles.
Cold, No Wind, No Rain, a brilliant day out:
With the proceeds of this event going to charity it was great that 200 riders turned out.
About 8 of us, (Coalville Wheelers), headed over to Rugeley for this event, a reasonable turnout me thinks. With just 2 of us opting for the longer 60mile route whilst the majority stayed with the 40mile route & well done to them as there were some newcomers to the club in this group.
We set off with the first group at 10.00 in a good sized group & we stayed together steady for a good hour until the lumps & bumps came! when we all started to get strung out. As we started to get passed by more & more riders it wasn't long before the fastest group which was due to set off at 10.30 whizzed by.
As we got closer to the split I decided to keep going over to crests. This left me on my own for most of the rest of the ride, however soon after the split in the route I realized that my saddle had tipped back, which got slowly worse. This left me a bit uncomfortable as it affected my position, tipping my hips back & giving the effect of putting the handlebars further away. I guess I should have stopped to correct it but I made the descision to press on. No real harm done, a few extra aches bit I finished the 95km ride in 3hrs 30mins which I was satisfied with.
